TECHNICAL COMMITTEES
IEEE EMC SOCIETY – Technical Committee 7 – Low Frequency EMC
The technical committee TC7 activities are related to low-frequency EMC including Power Quality in electric power systems. Electricity networks are currently undergoing a significant transition with the increasing use of renewable energy sources due to the climate global challenge. EMC in power systems is expected to be increasingly important. This is due to increased use of electronics in renewables, electric vehicles, energy efficient technologies and Smart Grid applications.
CIGRE – Study Committee C4 – Power system technical performance
The mission of the Study Committee (SC) C4 is to facilitate and promote the progress of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in the field of system technical performance. To add value to this information and knowledge by means of synthesizing state-of-the-art practices and developing recommendations. The SC C4 is responsible for advanced methods and tools for analysis related to power systems. Its areas of atenton include: power Quality Performance, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Power System Dynamics, Lightning, Insulation Co-ordination.
